The mission of the S1 Civic Group is to serve, promote, and protect the community interests of Waggaman through volunteer efforts; to identify and evaluate needs, disseminate information, and take appropriate action with the goal of improving the quality of life in our community.
We address the Jefferson Parish services of police and fire protection, traffic, re-zoning requests of developers, and landfills. We also promote beautification of our area. We work in harmony with all agencies and organizations in Jefferson Parish for the purpose of effecting a better quality of life in our community.
Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month, 7:00PM, at the Live Oak Fire Station on Modern Farms Road. Please join us.…let your voice be heard!
As a community, our requests are simple: Any project in our area, be it residential or commercial, should be done to enhance our quality of life and our environment. We have a great opportunity to develop our area into one of the finest residential areas.…let’s not waste that.
Be a positive part of your community, know what is going on in your neighborhood, what’s coming in the future and meet your neighbors — join your civic association today. Our meetings are held every 3rd Wednesday of the month (we do take a break in the summer months). Membership forms are available at every meeting and most events.
It’s free to be a part of your neighborhood civic organization! That’s right, no dues. However, we do require an updated membership form yearly to maintain an active club status. It also qualifies you for any contests/drawings that we may have. If you have any questions, please email Dudley Hartz, Membership Chairman.
